About Dr Maria-Elena Lukeides
Dr Maria-Elena Lukeides is a warm, engaging, and down to earth Clinical Psychologist, meditation and mindfulness teacher, and a wellness and healthy lifestyle advocate. She has been working with individuals, families, and organisations for over 18 years. She specialises in treating anxiety and panic disorder, depression, low self-esteem, peri and postnatal depression, parenting, relationship and separation issues and lifestyle problems. Maria-Elena also has an interest in executive coaching and high performance coaching. She received a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Wollongong in 2012 and a BA (Honours) from Macquarie University in 1991.
Maria-Elena specialises in Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Compassion-focused approaches. Combined with a special interest in neuroscience and the mind’s plasticity her treatment models are informed by the most recent evidence. This means that your treatment will be based on well-validated scientific approaches. Her supportive and sensitive approach is interjected with gentle humour and self-reflection making her very down-to-earth, fun, and relatable.
